2A & 2B: March 26th class

Hi! How are you?

I hope you had two nice terms and are plenty of energy for this last term.

Well, after having checked the homework let's start with our class.

In this unit we are revising the Modal verbs so let's remember some of them!

CAN - CAN'T
COULD - COULDN'T
MUST
MUSTN'T
SHOULD - SHOULDN'T

THEORY:

Remember when to use them HERE.

You also have to remember that Modals are different from normal verbs:

1: They don't use an 's' for the third person singular. (She can speak German)
2: They make questions by inversion ('she can go' becomes 'Can she go?')3: They are followed by verb without 'to' (They can swim for one hour/ They want to swim)

Short summary:

CAN - ability
COULD - past (podia) and conditional (podria) of "can"
MUST - obligation
MUSTN'T - prohibition
SHOULD - recommending

PRACTISE:

A) Which one would you use for each picture?

B) Let's mime to practise these modal verbs.

VOCABULARY

In this unit we are also studying food. Let's learn some meat vocabulary.
Let's match all together the type of meat witht the appropriate animal (I'll ask it in the exam):

beef - lamb - pork - chicken ............................................................... hen - sheep - cow - pig

OK. GOOD JOB GUYS! SEE YOU NEXT CLASS!
